Oil and Gas Industry Training

Advanced Horizontal Well Technology

A Two-Day Short Course Available from Joshi Technologies International, Inc.

OBJECTIVE

This two-day seminar will present a broad range of horizontal well topics, supplemented by case histories from throughout the world.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This seminar is designed for reservoir, drilling and production engineers, geologists, geophysicists, and managers who wish to broaden their knowledge of horizontal well technology.

THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Estimate oil and gas reserves for horizontal wells
  • Calculate horizontal well drainage area
  • Evaluate horizontal well pressure transient test
  • Estimate steady state and pseudo steady state horizontal well rates and rate-time forecast
  • Perform analysis of horizontal wells.
  • Estimate critical rate and post-water breakthrough performance for horizontal and vertical wells

INSTRUCTOR

Sada Joshi, Ph.D., is President of Joshi Technologies International, Inc. (JTI), Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Joshi has written numerous technical papers and is the author of a book titled Horizontal Well Technology, published by PennWell of Tulsa. He was also a SPE Distinguished Lecturer in 1995-96.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Each participant will receive a set of printed lecture materials for the use in the seminar and as a reference guide in the future. In addition, each participant will receive Dr. Joshi's book, Horizontal Well Technology.

  • All lectures are well illustrated in powerpoint presentations.
  • Practical exercises will give participants a better understanding of the material presented.
